Consider Temple Adath for your next meeting, event, or celebration...
The space within Temple Adath Yeshurun was designed not only to serve the spiritual, education and social needs of its members, but to provide a gathering place for the people of Syracuse, NY.

Each area climate-controlled and air-conditioned. Competent, cooperative maintenance and resident custodial personnel to serve your every need.

What space is available?
There is easy accessibility from our large, well-lighted parking lot through wide doors to the vast foyer, featuring a view of our garden atrium, beautiful in every season.

Towering stained glass windows filter colored light at the south end of the building. A magnificent 2300 square foot setting for 125 at lunch, 200 or more for a conference or lecture, reception of cocktail party.

The fully carpeted ballroom with parquet dance floor is adjacent to the FOYER, with draped windows and glass doors facing south.

A stage at the north end, which can be closed off when not needed, is 40 feet wide by 21 feet deep served by dressing rooms on each side.

We have a large drop-down screen, a projector, a baby grand piano and an upright piano. The 11,700 square foot space can be divided to serve less than 300 people.

In full size, up to 1200 people cabaret style or cocktail party, or 750 for luncheon or dinner, can be served at tables by the catering service using our large fully equipped kitchen.

Set up in lecture style, it can seat 1400. With Foyer partition removed, 1800 can be seated.

Ballroom acoustics are superb, and our sound system is excellent.

How are rental fees determined?
Your type of event, seating requirements and number of guests, as well as the area chosen, affect the rental price. The Catering Committee and House Committee work with our Executive Director, to provide fair and equitable rentals for a variety of functions. Our Executive Director is qualified and authorized to provide you with a firm quote based on your space requirements, and your number of events. With a series, the cost can be reduced below that of a one-time rental.

What is included in the rental fee?

The use of our stage, projector, piano, etc., including set up and take down service by our own skilled maintenance personnel, is included in your rental contract. There are no "hidden" charges. If tables or chair requirements should exceed our supply, we'll suggest rental options. We can also suggest suppliers of goods or services, which you desire, such as florists or musicians.

Our spacious coatroom is staffed by the Temple Adath Yeshurun Youth Group, which uses coat-checking contributions for its activities. Our Executive Director will handle arrangements, if your event is held at a time of year when you need the coatroom.

At evening events or large daytime events, some groups call upon the Explorer Post of the Dewitt Fire Department to direct traffic in our parking lot before and/or after the event. You may choose this group (the Executive Director will contact them for you) or hire another group, or you may not require traffic direction. A contribution to the selected group will help them with their projects.

We want everything to be perfect
Ask us anything - we want to help you find out why you should enjoy Temple Adath Yeshurun as a meeting or party site. We will answer your questions and tell you how much your rental fee will be. If you select us, we'll help with as many details of your planning as possible.

Please keep in mind that we are a conservative Jewish synagogue, as well as a community resource, thus we have two rules:

1.Temple is closed from sundown Friday until sundown Saturday, and on Jewish holidays. Nothing can be brought into or removed from the Temple at those times. But with 365 days and evenings in the year, that leaves most times available. During seasons of early sundowns, fall through spring, Saturday evenings can be booked. Sunday day or evening events can also be scheduled here.

2. Purity of food and beverage entering and being consumed in the Temple must be assured by your use of one of our approved catering services. Each catering service offers a diverse menu meeting Kosher standards - luncheon, dinner, between meal snacks, beverage, and cocktail party refreshments including hors d'ouvres, alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic beverages. No corkage fee.
You are free to discuss your plans with the catering services as you wish and to ask for references if you are not familiar with their work. A complete list of approved caterers is available from our Executive Director.
