Dr. Lauren Warren-Faricy is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist in the Neuropsychology Assessment Program (NAP) at SUNY Upstate. She completed her PhD in clinical psychology with specialization in neuropsychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her internship and postdoctoral fellowship were completed at Duke University Medical Center. She has extensive clinical expertise in the assessment of neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Her favorite part of her job is helping cognitively impaired patients and their families find individualized ways to maximize brain health and maintain independence.
Her talk will focus on similarities and differences of various kinds of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementias, Lewy body dementia and vascular dementia. She will discuss risk factors and protective factors that can affect later development of cognitive impairment, as well as available treatments. Finally, she will touch on practical suggestions we can all use to maximize brain health as we age.
There will be a question and answer session following the presentation.
